Surprise surprise, banks think that co-branded credit cards are actually still… in? It’s probably about a decade (or two?) ago where such joint cards are extremely popular. M1, Robinsons, and even SingPost, all have a credit card. Having said that, the trend has been dying for a while now. The hottest co-branded card that came out was probably the UOB-Krisflyer card last year, and for good reasons, given that the miles gathering community have grown tremendously in just the last two years. Now, back to the Citi Lazada card. LOUNGE REVIEW: Qantas Singapore First Lounge, Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1

Qantas has spared no effort in publicising its plans to open a new first class lounge in Singapore since last year, and finally, it’s here. Since last week, Qantas has quietly opened the first class lounge before the official opening gala slated to happen next week. I was travelling out and was fortunate enough to be guested into the lounge. I have tried Qantas’ first class last year when it resumed the A380 service to Singapore, and was looking forward to see what the lounge here in Singapore will offer. Location of the Qantas Singapore First Lounge The brand new lounge is located at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1, where Qantas and Jetstar operates. For those who are familiar with the existing Qantas Singapore Lounge (which have since been rebranded as the Qantas Singapore Business Lounge), the Qantas Singapore First Lounge is located on the opposite end of the terminal, closer to the D gates. The much awaited first class lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 1 should open from the week of 18 November 2019 Finally we are very near to the fanfare: the Qantas Singapore First Lounge is expected to open this month, in November. The airline has earlier said that the lounge will be opened in mid to late November. Based on sources, the lounge should be opened from 18 November 2019 if there are no hiccups. Official opening on 2 December Based on a report by Executive Traveller, the official opening date of the lounge is set to be on 2 December 2019, and Qantas Chief Executive Alan Joyce will be present to officiate the opening. However, according to some sources, there seems to be a staff event over the weekend of 16 & 17 November as a trial before the doors are opened to customers on 18 November, Monday. Transfer your DBS points to Qantas Frequent Flyer and get 25% more

Qantas is now running a points transfer promotion, offering a 25% bonus on top of the usual transfer rates. So that means, for every 5000 DBS points transferred, you will get 12,500 Qantas points instead of the usual 10,000. The baseline number of points will usually show up within a couple of days (DBS says it will take up to 7 working days, but in reality it’s usually quite fast), and you will receive the bonus points by 14 November 2019. Qantas first partnered up with DBS earlier this year in March 2019, and offered a launch offer of 20% bonus. Back then, I transferred 30,000 points to Qantas, and the bonus showed up that very weekend. Should you transfer your points to Qantas? Singapore Airlines to take over Silkair’s Singapore-Busan services

The daily A330-300 service will see an increase of 76% in seat capacity between the two cities. Singapore Airlines will operate an A330-300 service between Singapore and Busan, taking over the existing SilkAir service from 28 October 2019. The transfer will enable Singapore Airlines to increase seat capacity on the route by 76% to meet the growing travel demand. SIA will operate flights to Busan four times per week, maintaining SilkAir’s current flight frequency.
