Alaska Mileage Plan offers highest ever 60% bonus on miles purchases

Targeted bonus available to some members only. In the midst of a world pandemic, airlines are desperately trying to conserve cash burn as they receive practically near-zero revenue given the halting of international travel. Alaska Air has turned to its usual tactic to raise some money, by ‘selling’ future travel in the form of miles. This time, Alaska Air is offering up to 60% bonus miles, a never-seen-before offer. Note that Alaska Air is currently selling these miles tax-free, so this brings the per-mile cost down to 1.72 US cents. The offer Alaska Air has targeted some members with the whopping 60% bonus. This is not a straight-off bonus, but tiered according to how much you buy: Buy 10,000-19,000 miles: 20% bonus (i.e. 2.29 US cents/mile) Buy 20,000-39,000 miles: 40% bonus (i.e. 1.96 US cents/mile) Buy 40,000 miles and above: 60% bonus (i.e. 1.72 US cents/mile) This is a targeted offer, so that means that your offer may differ from other people. Accor is offering bonus points for all takeaway and delivery orders from its restaurants during Singapore’s ‘circuit breaker’ month between 7 Apr and 4 May. The offer Accor will award 1 point per S$1 spent via delivery service partners (i.e. Deliveroo, GrabFood & Food Panda), or 2 points per S$1 spent if you order directly from the restaurant and pick it up yourself. Given that the normal earn rate is 1 point per EUR1 (which translates to 0.65 points per S$1), this translates to a roughly 50% or 200% bonus points respectively. Note that there’s a minimum spend of S$10 per receipt, not that it matters because I’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone spending under that amount if you were to order from a hotel’s restaurant anyway. Citibank running a PayAll promotion targeted at Citi Prestige cardholders, earn 1.6 mpd if you spend at least $15,000 through PayAll Citibank is running yet another promotion, this time targeted at Citi Prestige cardholders through their PayAll facility. To recap, Citi PayAll is a payment facility to payees who traditionally don’t accept credit card payments (such as private landlords, education institutions, income tax, etc). Citi charges a 2% fee for PayAll payments, so that effectively means that you are paying 2 cents per 1.3 miles (i.e. 1.54 cent per mile) earned on your Citi Prestige card. The promotion mechanism From 24 Feb to 31 Mar 2020, Citi Prestige cardholders can earn up to 11,000 additional miles on top of the usual 1.3 mpd when using the Citi PayAll facility.  There are simply two tiers: Spend $15,000, get an additional 4,500 miles, or Spend $30,000, get an additional 11,000 miles.
