November 2018 KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes

The November Spontaneous Escapes promotion list is now out! For the penultimate edition of the year, KrisFlyer is offering 30% off the usual mileage required for Economy & Business on SQ to destinations across Asia and Australia only, for travel in December 2018. For SilkAir, the destination list is slightly more generous, with 15 destinations as far as Hiroshima, Japan and Darwin, Australia. Also included in the promotion this month is January travel to USA. If you recall, Singapore Airlines came out to say earlier this month that the premium economy cabin is not selling like hot cakes on the non-stop services to USA, so I guess naturally these will come at a discount too. The price? 45,500 miles each way to Los Angeles and San Francisco, plus taxes, for travel between 1-13 January 2019. All redemptions must be made by 30 November 2018. UOB PRVI Amex Card offers double miles on overseas spend until 31 December 2018

UOB is now offering a double miles promotion on all overseas spend for its PRVI American Express card from 11 November 2018 through 31 December 2018. Instead of the usual 2.4 miles per dollar spent overseas, cardmembers will earn up to 4.8 miles on qualifying spend including overseas shopping, dining, accommodation and even online spend. There is a minimum spend of S$1,000 of qualifying spend you need to make on the card (that new iPhone you buy in Hong Kong will count, but if you buy that iPhone at Changi Airport, it doesn’t count), and the total number of bonus miles you can earn is capped at 3,000 miles (equivalent to UNI$1,500, UOB’s reward programme currency). So it’s been twelve months since Singapore Airlines started a monthly redemption promotion called KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes, offering discounts on using your miles for select destinations. Given it’s the first year anniversary of the promotion, KrisFlyer is offering 40%, instead of the usual 30%, off to Bangkok, Yangon and Phnom Penh! Singapore Airlines is now running a Mastercard promotion to almost all its destinations. Promo fares are available across all classes – Economy, Premium Economy and Business. The sale period though is a little confusing. Business and Premium Economy sale ends 23 July 2018, while Economy class fares are available through 13 July 2018. For those who want to splurge a little, the business class fares seem rather reasonable. Fares begin from S$648 (two to go, Kuala Lumpur), and the most expensive being S$7,188 (New York JFK). PROMO: Cathay Pacific is giving away a million miles to Singapore Asia Miles members

Singapore-based Asia Miles members stand to win up to 300,000 miles if they purchase a Cathay Pacific or Cathay Dragon ticket from now until 26 August 2018. Cathay Pacific will give out a total of one million miles to a total of 11 members. The lucky draw is only open to Singapore-based customers, and travel must originate from Singapore One key thing to note is that you will have to manually enter the contest using the online form here. The good news is that the lucky draw is open to customers who booked through any booking channel, whether they do on Cathay Pacific’s website, mobile app or through a travel agent. And also, looking at the T&Cs there doesn’t seem to be a restriction on the travel dates. The top prize of 300,000 miles is good for a round trip first class ticket to US or Canada, or six round trip tickets in business class to Hong Kong.
