This is even better than a 40% bonus. Alaska Air is now doing a flash sale from now until 1 July 2019 2.59pm (30 June 2019, 11.59pm PST). Unlike previous sales where they offer 40% bonus miles (sometimes up to 50%), Alaska Air is now offering a 30% straight up discount off the purchase price. Offer type Effective discount 40% bonus miles 28.6% 50% bonus miles 33.3% 30% discount 30% So if you look at the table above, you will see that a 30% discount is slightly higher than a 40% bonus, so this is a good middle ground between a 40 to 50% bonus offer. There is a minimum number of miles you have to purchase before you enjoy the discount, and apparently this minimum differs from person to person. Qantas running mid-year sale from now until 26 June 2019, return fares from S$424

Qantas is currently running a special mid-year sale with a twist. For the first time, it is also offering its email subscribers an additional discount on top of the sale prices. The sale will end 26 June 2019, 11.59 pm. Singapore Airlines have unveiled their July Spontaneous Escapes a tad late this month, but it’s still a good range of offering for a post-mid year break. A total of 23 Singapore Airlines destinations and 21 SilkAir destinations are on sale this month. Notable mentions Dusseldorf business class seats make a return this month, after a very long absence. SQ flies the A350 to Dusseldorf and online reviews of the premium product has been no less than great. All of Japan is on offer this month, given that Singaporeans don’t typically like to visit Japan during the summer months. One way business class seats go for 32,900 miles, while economy class seats go for 17,500 miles each way. UOB runs targeted promotion for PRVI Miles cardholders – buy miles at 1.8 cents a piece

UOB has launched PRVI Pay for a while now, and most recently raised the processing fee to 2.1% in March 2019. Limited time offer: 1.8% processing fee Earlier this week, I received a physical mailer from UOB, offering a promotional rate of 1.8% processing fee to use the PRVI Pay facility. This effectively means that you are paying 1.8 cents per mile, which can translate to a $30 savings for every 10,000 miles bought. Note that the amount that you’ll like to apply for is up to your credit limit with UOB. To apply, you will need to fill up the physical form and mail it back the old-school way. Once approved, the money will be in the bank account that you designate, and the amount plus the processing fee will be debited from your credit card account. Note that there is no installment option, you will have to make full payment on the amount requested by your next statement. Convert your Grab reward points to Krisflyer miles at 50% discount now

700 Grab points for 160 miles from now until 30 June 2019 Grab is currently running the Grab Singapore Sale now, with an array of offers and discounts between 24 May and 31 July 2019. One promotion is a 50% discount on the number of reward points you need to redeem for Krisflyer miles. Between 1 and 30 June 2019, you can use only 700 Grab reward points to redeem for 160 Krisflyer miles. You can redeem as many miles as you want. Is it worth it? In short: yes. Grab points are usually best used for discount vouchers on Grab rides. Usually, you will need 1,900 points for a $5 voucher, and that gives a 0.26 cents valuation to each Grab point. Krisflyer miles are valued at about 2 cents a piece, so using 1,400 points for 160 miles will mean forgoing $3.68 (worth of Grab credits) for 160 miles, or 2.3 cents a mile. This is higher than what you should be paying for. However, at half price, the cost now goes down …
